New Mexico State senior Dalton Herrington is one of 19 seniors on the Aggies online roster. Including some redshirt juniors I believe there are at least 12 players from Doug Martin's first recruiting class that makes up the core of the Aggies roster.
Herrington graduated in May with a Business finance degree and he will pursue a MBA beginning in the fall, where he is currently slotted in as a starter at Will linebacker.
With Rodney Butler graduated and Derek Ibekwe moved to defensive end, Herrington will be the most experienced player in what should be a deep linebackers room with 21 starts in his first three years.
Herrington missed most of spring practice after suffering a concussion, but he is ready for fall camp to begin on Monday.
Sun-News: Is going to a bowl game this year the only way you would define success when looking back at what the senior class has accomplished?
Herrington: That's a tough question because we are all competitors. Even though a lot of things have changed around here and the feeling has changed, at the end of the day we all want to win. It might not necessarily be a bowl game but more wins would give us the feeling of more accomplishment. I don't know what that number exactly is. ... Going out as our group, it would give us the feeling that we changed a little bit more just because of what winning would do in that final year.
