LAS CRUCES, N.M. โ The Aggie Athletic Club has seen a tremendous increase in the last four years since the new athletic administration arrived to the tune of 1,000 members, up from the 671 members in 2014-15.
"Eclipsing the 1,000 member number in the Aggie Athletic Club is a very satisfying milestone to hit for NM State athletics," Director of Athletics Mario Moccia said. "Four years ago we had significantly less members with a total dollar amount of only $168,000 generated.
The largest increase in AAC cash donations came between 2016-17 and 2017-18, checking in at $196,069. Meanwhile, the 224 member increase from last year brought the membership total to 783, which made the 1,000 member mark attainable for the athletic department.
"With 1,000 members and a projected $650,000 in cash revenue from those memberships, we have seen immense growth in our annual fund," Moccia stated. "Back-to-back 28 win seasons in men's basketball and the 2017 NOVA Home Loans Bowl victory put us in position to have success along with many of our Olympic Sports winning WAC titles and having NCAA appearances."
In addition to hitting the 1,000 member milestone, the Aggie Athletic Club has also seen record numbers in both attendance and donations during its annual fundraisers such as Aggies in Paradise, The Lujan Dinner and the Aggie Open Golf Tournament.
