According to the official contract obtained by the Daily Bruin in 2020, UCLA agreed to pay New Mexico State $1.2 million to visit the Rose Bowl on Aug. 29, 2020. The contract also stated the party that unilaterally cancels or refuses to participate in the game must pay the other party $1.4 million in liquidated damages. Unless the Pac-12 reduces it nine-game conference schedule to eight, the next possible date the Bruins could play the Aggies would be in 2027. A UCLA Athletics spokesperson told All Bruins the department has "not yet rescheduled New Mexico State."
Moccia said on Ask the AD that they have not been in contact with UCLA and if they were it would be a new deal not tied to the old one. Also that UCLA is not on the high paying end of scheduling or words to that effect.
