Miller hopes team can finish season strong

The Las Cruces Bulldawgs have the experience and the talent. They’re big, fast and well coached.
It’s no surprise they enter the season as the No. 1-ranked 5A team in the state, but head coach Jim Miller and his team aren’t that concerned about how they begin the season. It’s how they finish it that matters.
“The ranking doesn’t mean jack squat to me,” Miller said. “We got beat in the quarterfinals last year and lost in the semifinals the year before. We have a lot to prove on the field. It’s not August when the rankings matter. It’s December.”
