The athletics program at Eastern New Mexico University has been put on four years’ NCAA probation because of eligibility violations that arose during the 2008-13 academic years.
The NCAA penalties do not ban ENMU from the postseason and do not reduce the number of athletic scholarships it can offer.
“There was no show of cause on any personnel at Eastern New Mexico,” ENMU athletic director Jeff Geiser said. “The breakdowns were more from a failure of checks and balances. There was never anything intentional. Everything was human error.”
