The NCAA has accused the UL football program of major recruiting-related rules violations, the school disclosed on Sunday following a public records request made by The Daily Advertiser on Thursday.
UL officials late Sunday afternoon publicly disclosed documents detailing the allegations as well as its response.
The Ragin’ Cajuns responded in late August to the Notice of Allegations from the NCAA, which accuses former assistant football coach David Saunders of wrongdoing.
After extensive reporting by The Daily Advertiser along with UL's disclosure it’s been learned the allegations are related to an academic eligibility issue involving the standardized test scores of multiple recruits signed by the Cajuns over the past few years, all after Mark Hudspeth took over as head coach of the team following the 2010 season.
