Well, I'm not sure NMSU needs another PG with Baker, Browne, and Landry already on the roster. But this kid definitely has a good handle and a pro range three point shot; he'll need that type range at only 5' 8".
Except for Baker, the Aggie coaching staff has been very disappointed with the guard play this year. It's been marked by less than crisp ball movement on the perimeter, poor passing and turnovers, lousy 3pt shooting, almost no pull-up or step back jumpers, and little penetration. If Brooks is indeed eligible to play this year, it could be a big plus for the team. I also have a suspicion that Ndir could see a lot of added playing time as Huggins, Browne, Esparza, and Taylor are presently not cutting it. The big question with Brooks is, Will he be able to defend well enough at 5'8"?

My concern is Brooks "if signed" would be a replacement rather than an addition to the team; maybe a guard transfers out? Just looking at the guards situation, it seems "to me" Huggins catches some of Menzies ire for his ball management. And, at the moment, Ndir seems displeased buried at the end of the bench. Just by Braxton's aggressiveness when he has the ball in hand, I can tell he wants to play a bigger role in the offense; taking upon himself to engage the defense, having a quick trigger, and not always making the best shot selection choices. And, once in the game, Ndir seem to need more time to find his rhythm than Menzies is willing to give him in the rotation. There is no substance to back this up. It is just my opinion from watching the players expressions during the game.

Remember that Ndir was injured before the season. I remember Menzies mentioning either during a press conference or reading in the Sun News that Ndir wasn't suppose to be playing as early as he had. Players were shifted around when Wilkens was out due to the clerical error. So maybe MDir has re-aggravated his injury some.
