LAS CRUCES, N.M. โ New Mexico State University Athletics once again posted tremendous Academic Progress Rate (APR) results on Wednesday when the NCAA released its annual reports.
Using data from the 2014-15 academic year, all NM State sports ranked above the 930 mark for the second time since the NCAA instituted the APR as a measuring tool starting with the 2004-05 year. Schools with a four-year score below 930 could be subject to penalties including reduced practice time and loss of postseason.
"I am very pleased that we have put together two consecutive years of having all our programs above 930, and again have programs nationally recognized," said NM State Director of Athletics Mario Moccia. "It shows we have made a great effort to move the needle, but we are far from satisfied and our coaches and staff will continue to preach academic integrity and hard work in the classroom to continue to improve our scores."
