CLOVIS, N.M. – NM State equestrian's Kyla Myers was named Miss Rodeo New Mexico 2017 on Friday after participating in the Miss Rodeo New Mexico Pageant from June 1-3. Myers is one of just three equestrian student-athletes nationwide to carry a state's Miss Rodeo title.
"It's something I've really worked for since I was a kid and started in the program," said Myers. "I'm just really excited to start January 1, representing New Mexico and New Mexico State University and to represent next December at the Miss Rodeo America Pageant. I really see it as an opportunity to serve the sport that I love, rodeo as well as the lifestyle that I love, the western lifestyle. I owe a lot of that to the people at New Mexico State University. They have supported me and helped me grow as an individual to start viewing this as a service opportunity."
