TUCSON, Ariz. โ Kyle Bradish has been named to the Louisville Slugger Freshman All-American team, Collegiate Baseball announced on Wednesday. He is the fifth freshman in school history to receive this honor and the first since Zac Fisher in 2010.
Bradish, a native of Goodyear, Ariz., finished his freshman campaign with an 8-2 record and a 4.67 ERA in 86.2 innings pitched. In his 15 starts, he led the team with 82 strikeouts. Bradish broke the school record for most strikeouts by a freshman, set by Jaime Mendes in 1992 with 78 strikeouts. Against Northern Colorado on May 20, he struck out a career-high nine batters. His eight wins put him in a tie for second most wins in the conference. Against Bradish, opponents only hit .257.
The Louisville Slugger Freshman All-American team is selected by the staff of Collegiate Baseball.
