Three suspended Western Kentucky basketball players, including South Side High graduate Chris McNeal, are not expected to return to the team, according to a Louisville Courier-Journal story posted after new coach Rick Stansbury's introductory press conference Monday.

The story says Stansbury was asked if he expected McNeal, Fredrick Edmond and Marlon Hunter to return to the team. He responded "Absolutely not."

WKU announced March 17 that the three guards had been suspended from the team following a March 16 hearing by the University Disciplinary Committee. The school simultaneously announced that coach Ray Harper had resigned. The release specified no reason for the suspensions.

The WKU basketball roster has been changed to reflect Stansbury as head coach but still includes McNeal, Edmond and Hunter on the list of players.
