Numerous WAC Track & Field Athletes Earn USTFCCCA All-Academic Honors
DENVER โ A total of 30 WAC student-athletes have been named to the 2012 U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Division I All-Academic Track and Field team. Twenty-two women and eight men were named to the team. Idaho and Utah State led the conference with nine honors, Nevada was represented with fi ve, Fresno State and Hawaiโi each boasted three awards, and New Mexico State collected one. A total of 676 student-athletes representing 171 institutions nationwide earned the award. To qualify for the honor, the student-athlete must have compiled a cumulative grade point average of 3.25 and have met either of the following athletic standards: for the indoor season, a student-athlete must have fi nished the regular season ranked in the national top 96 in an individual event or ranked in the national top 48 (collective listing) in a relay event on the offi cial NCAA POP list provided by TFRRS.org; for the outdoor season, a student-athlete must have participated in any round of the NCAA Division I Championships (including preliminary rounds).
