My wife and I plan to spend February in Las Cruces next year. We live in Rhode Island year-round and are avid Providence College basketball fans, but I've finally convinced her to get out of here for a month during the winter for some warmth and sunshine. I especially don't like my golf game getting rusty when we've got snow cover. We spent 11 days in the northern half of NM in April and loved it but would want something further south for a winter getaway. Most people from this part of the country head for Florida or somewhere in the southeast during retirement years, but neither of us are crazy about that idea, having been there many times to visit family. So, we hope to take in some Aggies games while in the area. I don't know much about the team but see that they draw pretty well versus other Conference USA teams and have also noticed by looking through some history on the KenPom website that this past year looks like it's been a down year; not typical of what might normally be expected.
P.S. You probably all know this, but I got a clear impression during our brief stay in April that the Albuquerque people don't like the Santa Fe people so much and vice versa!
Great to hear. Iโm from Las Cruces but currently live in Arizona. My family still live in Las Cruces and are big Aggie fans. Always great to hear of new sports fans.
